V8i Essentials: Interface Improvements — Part 3 is the third in this series of the new V8i Essentials has been released!

With Axiom’s self-paced MicroStation e-learning courses, users can now learn from MicroStation gurus without having to travel around the country or sit in a course room. In fact, any user can learn new skills or brush up on existing knowledge without leaving his or her desk!

In this course, students continue to review enhancements to a selective list of V8i dialog boxes, as well as explore assignments made to function keys and mouse buttons. Upon completion, students will be able to:

  • Recognize changes made to the Raster and Dimension dialog boxes.
  • Use existing assignments made to function keys and mouse buttons.
  • Assign their own commands and scripts to function keys and mouse buttons.

Axiom’s lastest version of Microsoft Office Importer for MicroStation was enhanced to work seamlessly with Excel 2007 spreadsheet data and Word 2007 documents.

New features were also added including the ability to import hyperlinks from Excel spreadsheets as engineering links in MicroStation and the ability to manage existing Excel chart pastes. Now you can easily change the path stored in existing chart links and turn their automatic update setting on and off.

Our first browser-based V8i course, V8i Essentials: 101A — Open the MicroStation World, has just been released.

With Axiom’s self-paced MicroStation e-learning courses, users can now learn from MicroStation gurus without having to travel around the country or sit in a course room. In fact, any user can learn new skills or brush up on existing knowledge without leaving his or her desk!

In this course, the MicroStation Manager is explored in three separate chapters: “Starting MicroStation”, “MicroStation Manager” and “The Workspace”. Upon completion, students will know how to navigate through different project directories, set File Types, effectively use workspaces and create new design files. This is the first of many V8i courses scheduled for release in 2009.
