The purpose of SpecChecker is to ensure
design file consistency by detecting, reporting
and correcting elements which do not comply with
your project standards.
You simply tell SpecChecker to automatically
generate a rules file (file SpecChecker uses
to determine on-standard element criteria) from
a design file that already meets your companys
standards (yes, it can do this!). Using this rules
file, SpecChecker checks your design files
and shows you all the elements which do not comply
with your rules. Better yet, SpecChecker
will correct the errors it finds, either interactively
or automatically! Your choice!

of MicroStation files that conform to your standards,
derive what your standards are and automatically
generate a rules file describing your standards!

production time! Youll never again have to
figure out how to get your standards into SpecChecker

files for you! If further editing is needed after
the automatic generation process, SpecChecker
gives you this capability as well.

An example of how SpecChecker
will improve the quality of your MicroStation files
Lets say that for a certain project all text
on level 27 should be yellow. Just build a rules
file (or automatically generate a rules file if
one of your design files lends itself to the above
standard). Then tell SpecChecker which design
files you want to check for compliance. SpecChecker
checks your design files against the rules file
just created. SpecChecker can also create
a complete report of all detected non-compliances.
Not only that, but SpecChecker will correct
the violations automatically according to your instructions!
For example, it might change all the blue text on
level 27 to yellow and move all the red text on
that level to level 29.

Detect errors based on
any combination of the following element characteristics:
Color, level, weight, style, font, element type,
number of text characters, database table, location
of the element on the XY plane or within XYZ cube,
properties (planar, new element, modified, locked,
etc.), class, complex (or not complex), text which
matches wildcards or regular expressions, cell names
which match wildcards or regular expression, rotation
angle (text nodes, arcs, ellipses) (2D files only),
size of ellipse (primary and secondary axes), number
of vertices, range block (size) of element, text
justification, number of enter data fields, if arc
or ellipse is circular or not, any byte value within
the element, any word value, any bit or bits, any
long value, any float value, text height and width
in positional units or master units, graphic group
number, type 9 master units, sub units per master
unit, positional units per sub-unit, text node number,
reference file full-file name, reference file description,
reference file logical name, design file name by
wildcard or check if element is a component of a
specific cellname.
Correct the following
characteristics automatically
Level, color, text node number, entity number, graphic
group number, text height, text width, font, text
Justification, line style, weight, class, property
bits, rotation angle, master units, sub-units, position
units, delete any element, modify any word value,
modify any bit value, modify any long value, modify
any float value, and others.

take a human proof reader hours or days. SpecChecker
